Song Pha Pass

Song Pha Pass was built by Frenchmen during the colonial period. This pass is very well-known not only for its numerous dangerous elbow-bended and narrow curves but also for the splendid landscape, which is also the reason for its French name, Belle Vue (which means a splendid view). Song Pha pass connects Ninh Thuan territory to Lam Vien highlands, where the famous flower city, Da Lat is located. Reaching the top of over 1.300 m height above the sea level, the climate changes enormously from a deserted land of rocks and sand to a foggy fresh region of luxuriant vegetation and flowers. Before crossing this 20 km – long pass toward Lam Dong, you will see the Da Nhim hydroelectric plant, built by the Japanese government to compensate for causing all damages during their invasion in Vietnam.
